Trusting people with responsibility

In the short term,
giving people responsibility
and trusting them with it,
is often not working very well.

Because it takes time to find out which way to go.
Because it takes time to make mistakes and to learn from them.
Because it takes time to learn how to make choices.

And so, the call for someone
who tells people where to go,
and enforces that they actually go there,
grows louder and louder.

And the question becomes:
How much patience do we have
to continue to give people responsibility
and to continue to trust them with it?
